Plasma TV vs  LCD TV !

In the flat panel market currently two technologies compete with each other: Plasma TV and LCD TV.  Both technologies claim for themselves each claim to be among the better and more promising.  Some manufacturers rely on only one of the two technologies, which are – like, as it did in various video technologies (VHS/Video2000) – prove as vital to an ever-growing market could.  Other manufacturers rely on both technologies and produce parallel.

The main drawback of LCD technology provides picture quality.  While sufficient for plasma TV, an electric pulse per pixel, needs the LCD panel several, which means at least one of brightness and then have up to three to activate the sub-pixel in the color filter layer.  This slows down the response time of pixels compared to plasma technology and is in fast movements called “generate streaking.  The possible width of the color is on LCD devices not nearly as natural as the plasma TV.  A further drawback of LCD devices is usually smaller screen size. LCD TV with very large screens are still virtually priceless.  With screen sizes up to about 37 inches in turn the plasma technology is often expensive.

One advantage of LCD technology, however, is that through the focused light radiation towards the observer a much lower power consumption occurs when the plasma TV, but again this can be a disadvantage, because with increasing angle of the viewer, the color quality decrease considerably (unfortunately see notebook display).

Due to the higher power consumption can be particularly at very large plasma TV is a limit to be achieved, which gives rise to an assignment in the normal standard family households, at least questionable.  Another disadvantage of plasma television versus LCD TV is the current lack of danger of burn-thin displays (eg, channel logos that are located permanently at the same point of the image).  However, this danger is now the manufacturer has been minimized.  For example, technologies are used to the still images after a certain time about one or two pixels at a time (barely perceptible to the human eye) and thus avoid the problem of burn-safe.

Although many will claim otherwise, the life of both technologies about equal to or  in modern plasma TV is even higher than that of comparable LCD models.

The following table summarizes the main differences between plasma TV and LCD TV in a clear form.
