Love it!
Title says it all! Bought this to replace an LG plasma that died after only 3 years. Was a little worried that an LCD would no be able to match the blacks of plasma, but this LED model definitely lived up to reviews. Also noticed a significant difference on the electric bill compaired to plasma. (MUCH more efficient)
Only complaint would be the high pitched hiss that other reviewers have mentioned. Its not always there, but it can be noticable when on for a long time when the volume is muted or turned down low because the baby is sleepin in the other room.

Great Picture, Great Network Streaming
This TV is great and the picture is phenomenal, it blows away the older LCD sets that pixelated during fast motion. That was my main reason for waiting until LCD technology resolved that issue and this TV does exactly that. I've owned this set for over 4 months and the picture still amazes me and my friends.

A big weakness of the set is the sound out of the internal speakers. It is very poor and plugging into a sound system is a must, preferably with a optical cable.

The "fake" or soap opera look on DVDs and HD shows takes a while to get use to and is really not a flaw of the TV. It is actually displaying a picture that you are not use to seeing because the movement is crystal clear and fluid, almost like looking through a glass window and watching a live show. After watching a regular standard TV for many years, your eyes have been trained to see blurry motion (interlaced images) and your brain has been trained to compensate for it. It took about 2 months for things to look "normal" again. Also, things tend to look 3D, you can definitely see perspective and tell what objects in a scene are placed in front or behind the characters, which gives old movies and shows a new look. Watching Cable TV seems normal "flat" with HDMI cables, probably because they downgrade the signal before it reaches the house. The local over-the-air HD stations come in crystal clear and better than the corresponding HD channels on the cable box.

To take full advantage of this set, I would recommend using just HDMI cable connections, and a receiver and Blu-ray player that "upscales" the video content. My extensive DVD collection plays very clear on this set and most movies look 3D. I don't know how they do it or if the 35mm film had much more detail than was able to be shown on CRT sets, but the video quality from a regular DVD is amazing. Try watching The Shining or any James Bond DVD, especially during the outdoor scenes, looks like it was shot yesterday with a digital camera. I recently bought a Blu-ray/DVD combo movie and I couldn't tell the difference in the quality between the two, so I think it is just a bunch of marketing hype or very good video upscaling by the TV and BD player (but you need to use HDMI cables for the upscaling feature to work on most components). I just like the fact that DVDs are so cheap as a result of BD.

An extra that this TV offers is Internet connectivity. It has an internet jack to hard wire it into your network. I connected mine wirelessly after buying Samsung's wireless usb adapter for about online. You have to use Samsungs wireless usb adapter because non Samsung ones will not work on it. It took a while for it to see my home network and I had to go down to a 64-bit security key but it finally joined the network (also no special characters or spaces in your Network Name). Right off you have Yahoo widgets and one of them being YouTube and others that you can download. Yes, you can search and play YouTube content right on the TV and it upscales the video so it looks better than what it does on my 23" computer monitor. The bad thing is that you have to use the remote to type in on the onscreen keyboard which it often times overshoots the desired letters and is more frustrating than useful. A wireless keyboard would be a nice accessory. Other widgets have weather, sports, stock prices, etc. but no web browsing capability. The widgets take a while to load and I don't really use them. The TV also has built in photos and music and games that you can download, while nice you are confined to using the remote for navigating and as a controller. I didn't use these features past the 3rd week of owning the set. Also, the TV will download any available updates for itself if it is hooked up to your network, which is a nice feature, usually does this late at night.

A network feature I do use often is streaming my videos, pictures and mp3s off my upstairs computer onto the TV. You don't need to copy your files over to a USB drive and put it into the TV, however there is an extra USB port to do this if you want, and the TV does have some internal memory. The set has 2 USB ports. To enable streaming off a PC in your home network, all you do is install the software from the CD included with the TV onto any PC connected to your home network and you select what folders and files to share within a windows explorer type interface. Hit apply and a few minutes later, the TV will detect your computer name (you can do this on multiple computers on your network) and these files will stream right to the TV. It does any divx, avi, mp3 and jpg photos. It works really well, however fast forward and rewind on video/movie files sometimes works but not often. Pause and play and exit is what you pretty much get. This TV does everything I wanted or envisioned at the time I purchased it. Definitely a great TV.

Fabulous TV
I purchased this TV one month ago. It was exceptionally easy to hook-up. I hung it over my fireplace using the Samsung Ultra-Slim Wall Mount. Its picture is absolutely great and it has many features that I have begun to use, but cannot yet rate. The only negative is the speakers blow downward, making it slightly more difficult to hear; not a significant issue though. It really is like a piece of artwork hanging on the wall, especially when its built-in artwork and scenery is displayed.

It's absolutely Gorgeous!
OMG! I love this TV. If it had a vagina and could make coffee, I would marry it! lmao. It is the best TV I ever owned.JMC

Outstanding TV
This television has an amazing picture and does not heat up like a plasma screen. Viewing is excellent from all angles; sports are crystal clear with absolutely no motion blur. Be sure to visit some of the tech websites for a list of the most effective picture settings.

I've only had the TV for four months, but there have been no problems with it. It is currently wall-mounted and attached to a home theater system with a blu-ray player and a Wii. I'm thoroughly satisified with all aspects of its performance.

Best Buy  ViewSonic VT2430 ; Sale Price. Limited Time Offer ! Today In stock ,Order Now Before Price Up.

ViewSonic VT2430 LCD tv is a very good  monitor at a budget price.

The overall picture  of  ViewSonic VT2430 is far more accurate, clean, and viewable than any of the other monitors I looked at. The dynamic range is very wide, including the darker colors and grays and blacks, not quite up to my 52-in Samsung (Over $2,300!), but closer than any other comparable sized monitor.

Really great TV for a great value
It's hard to find a full 1080p tv for this price, it is certainly a great value...My only real complaint which isn't even a big deal is that it could use more component inputs, I also thought there was two hdmi ports but there was only one...I still highly recommend this TV if you want a nice 1080p tv for your room...This is not built for the living room :)

Good but not Great
Worked right out of the box. The screen does not have any visible dead pixels or obvious imperfections. The picture quality is passable although not above average. When it is used as a computer monitor, the picture quality, and the colors, deteriorate. There is no standby mode, or it does not work.

VERY HAPPY
I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE OF THE VIEWSONIC VT2430. I WAITED 3 MONTHS TO WRITE MY REVIEW BECAUSE THERE WERE SOME REVIEWS FAULTING THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS TV. I HAVE HAD NO PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER.I HAD PROBLEMS HOOKING UP MY DVD PLAYER AND DIRECTV BOX FOR THERE WAS NOT A GOOD DIAGRAM OF HOW TO DO SO. BY TRAIL AND ERROR I MANAGED TO GET IT RIGHT, BUT NO FAULT BUT MY OWN IN NOT KNOWING WHAT I WAS DOING.
THE PICTURE IS DECENT,COULD BE A LITTLE CRISPER. SOUND SEEMS FNE. I SIT LEVEL WITH THE TV AND APPROX. 5 FEET AWAY, ITS THE PERFECT SIZE AT THAT DISTANCE. THE TV LOOKS SHARP, I LIKE THE PIANO BLACK FINISH.I FOUND THE REMOTE EASY TO USE AND THE ON SCREEN SETUP SELF EXPLANITORY.I HAVE NOT HOOKED UP MY LAPTOP TO THE TV YET, BUT LIKE THE ABILITY TO DO SO.
THIS IS MY FIRST LCD TV AND AM QUITE HAPPY THAT I CAN MOVE IT MYSELF, MY OLD TV WAS A 32 INCH AND TO HEAVY AND BULKY FOR ME TO MOVE MYSELF.
ALL IN ALL I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE.
KAI FROM CA.

Not as good...
I got this TV from Dell's online store. It came the next day after I placed the order. To assemble it is easy but the screen size is quite small and doesn't look like 24". The sound is terriable and the picture isn't sharp at all so I decided to send it back. Called dell's customer service and somebody from India(I guess?from the accent) answered the phone. It took about 25 minutes and the guy alwasy put me on hold. Finally I received the label.

When I tried to disassemble the TV I found they made it impossible for you to disconnect the stand, it is locked in permanently. So I had to unscrew it and it took me more than 20 minutes to put everything in the box. That thing is going to take a road trip soon.

Will never recommend it to anybody. It is cheap stuff. Will buy a reputable brand like Panasonic and Sony. Viewsonic isn't worth the money. With 0 more you can get high quality ones.

Outdoor Tv
I bought this tv to put on my back porch. I was really just trying to buy a cheap tv in case something happened to it i.e. weather. When purchasing I was in no way interested in picture quality. This tv has been a pleasant surprise. This is a good tv that I consider a great tv when price is taken into consideration.

Nice picture, poor reception
I used this TV to replace a 26-inch RCA LCD HDTV. The picture is better, clearer, richer colors, etc. But the TV reception is weak.

I'm using a roof-top TV antenna (sick of paying for cable). The RCA pulled in about 15 stations. My Philips downstairs pulls in 21. The Viore, using the same antenna, only pulls in 5 stations.

It's OK, since I mainly use it to watch movies from DVD, but I wouldn't recommend this unit if one was planning on using it with an antenna for watching broadcast TV.

It's ok.
A great HDTV for gaming,computer monitor,and Movies.

NOTE/WARNING:NOT A GOOD HDTV FOR REGULAR USE.SOME CHANNELS WILL BE CUT.YOU WILL KNOW WHAT I MEAN ONCE YOU BUY THIS TV.I USE IT MOST OF THE TIME FOR GAMING AND IT IS GREAT. OVERALL, IT IS WORTH IT FOR ITS PRICE.ALTHOUGH I DON'T SUGGEST IT AS A LIVING ROOM TV.IT'S MORE OF A TV FOR A DORMROOM/BEDROOM.

You get what you pay for...
Ok, so you see a 26 inch 1080p television with two hdmi slots for 250 dollars and see several 24 inch tvs slightly more expensive and most are only 720p. You also see 32 inch 720p tvs for 350 and up. So you say what have I got to lose? You read as many reviews as you can, some bad, some good and you feel doubts when reading some of the complaints but then after days and/or weeks of mind wrenching searching you always had this 26 inch cheap tv in your mind. You've never heard of the brand. You've read bad things about it; it has an ugly red stripe, cable companies remotes dont work with it, it's not true 16:9 format. Yea you read all this and say those aren't big enough issues to stop me from paying 250 dollars for a flat screen 1080p 2 hdmi slot 26 inch tv. So you dive in. Excitement fills your body. You get overjoyed knowing that your tv is purchased and on the way. You stalk the tracking system from the time you buy it until it arrives. When you finally get it you can hardly contain yourself. You say in your mind, "that red stripe isn't so bad." "Who cares that the screen isnt exactly 16:9?" "I only have to use the viore remote for volume and power? Piece of cake." So your satisfied... Weeks later that tv you did so much research on all of a sudden starts to act oddly. It seems as if it wants to give up but then revives itself. You try to think positive like, "That might've been a loose cord." But its not, that 250 dollars you spent thinking you were finding the ultimate deal for a 26 inch 1080p 2 hdmi port tv just went in the garbage. Now you realize the tv is flawed after only 3 weeks. You have to waste your gas to take it back and let it sit in a shop and go back to your old television (if you kept it, I am too careful and cautious not to keep it) hopefully you had a hd tv at least (i dont) or else its back to sd which now sucks turds to look at. They tell you it could take weeks to get it back... Wow. So if you want to spend 250 dollars on a tv with an unsightly red stripe on the bottom, incorrect screen size, incompatible with cable remotes and has even the slightest chance of dying within the first three weeks, go right ahead. Or you can keep watching your old tv and save up some more money and buy a tv that you have no doubts about after days of reviewing. That is all. 2/5 because the price didnt hurt me as much.

Excellent purchase...value and quality top notch
Quality and value of the Viore TV are excellent and dealing with Amazon is efficient...plus the shipping was free. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I can do up to 1080i on the lcd hdtv monitor, but when I check the little tv icon at the bottom of my screen, it says I’m getting 54Mps. What’s the conversion rate and how do I get it to be the best quality?

Basically I’ve done hours of research on different types of LCD’s. I have came done to instead of spending the extra money not just buy a cheap 32in LCD HDTV on black friday then in two years sell that and buy a nice 37in.

Do you think it would be worth the wait?

What would you consider is the average size of a decent LCD HDTV. Im not worried about the size of my room or whatever….etc. I want to buy an LCD HDTV that is just a little larger than normal. So……what would you consider is the starting screen size of a “larger than average” LCD HDTV? The guys at Best Buy recommended a 42in…….what do you think? Do you think a 42+ inches is the starting size of a “larger” TV size?

We just purchased a Sony 40″ HDTV LCD 1080p. We have a pioneer DVD surrond system and a phillips DVR. What is the easiest way to have this system setup in HD and what do I need to get this done. I am not sure if my DVR is HD but we just got it about 2yrs ago from Directv brand new. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to turn the speakers off on a samsung lcd hdtv? I have a sony surround system hooked up to it and the only way I can get the full effect out of my system is to turn the speakers off on the tv. Does anyone know how to do this?
